First I want to draw your attention to places in and around Detmold that are worth to be seen,
beside from the art studio "Chou-Art" ;o)

There are quite a few things beginning with Detmold itself as an old residence.

The inner town offers it´s twisty little alleyways and wonderful old buildings of which more than 500 are listed monuments from different eras.
In the town you can find the state library of Lippe, the state theater Detmold that as well as the state museum of Lippe with it´s location close to the castle lake is to be found in direct neighbourhood of the princely residence Castle.

At the outskirts the music academy with it´s park can be found and not far from it the open-air museum.

Also in close distance to Detmold there are further rewarding attractions such as the falconry, the bird park, the Externstones, the ruin and excavation of the "falcon castle", the Teuto clinbingpark and in it´s direct neighbourhood the Hermann-monument.

Further starting from Detmold the castle of Brake and the Junker-house both located in Lemgo as also the industry museum brickyard Lage are quick to be reached.

Appart from that there are many more places worth to be visited in this region, all embedded in the wonderfull soft, hills of the landscape of Lippe.
